Joseph Campbell tells us this about Nietzsche.
Friedrich Nietzsche was a German philosopher in the late 1800s, and his work has greatly influenced modern intellectual history.
Campbell goes on:
“Whatever your fate is, whatever the hell happens, you say ‘This is what I need’. It may look like a wreck, but go at it as though it was an opportunity. A challenge. If you bring love to that moment – not discouragement – you will find strength is there.
Any disaster that you can survive is an improvement in your character, your stature, and your life. What a privilege! This is when the spontaneity of your own nature will have a chance to flow.”
We have talked about finding opportunities within challenges. Nietzsche takes this one step further and asks us to bring love to this.
To accept that whatever is happening to us right now is exactly what we need.
Without this, we would not flow.
Facing a difficult marriage?
Struggling with your health?
It is the struggle itself that brings forth growth.
Who comes out the other side is an enhanced human being. Stronger. Resilient. In flow.
Embrace the challenge. It’s an opportunity.
Think about the toughest challenge you are facing in your life today. Bring it to the front of your mind.
Stare it in the face. Embrace it.
It is EXACTLY what you need right now. It is only through this challenge that you will TRANSFORM.
