Find someone annoying?
Stoic wisdom tells us it’s because we have those qualities in us.
On a deeper level, we wish we didn’t have those qualities. We see them in others and we see ourselves exhibiting those qualities.
It’s not just the negative. Even the positive ones are reflected.
See someone as a great leader?
We recognise those traits in ourselves and notice them in others.
Every time we point a finger at someone, we must remember that three others are pointing back at us.
So instead of trying to judge someone, we must focus within.
How am I that?
How am I showing up with that quality?
Think of a negative quality you find in someone. But instead of focusing on them, focus inwards.
Reflect on how you are being that.
How is that quality manifesting in you? And what is the one thing you can do right now to change that?
