Ah, procrastination. I used to be the king of deferral.
I mean, there’s always tomorrow, right? Today seems so rushed. I need some more time to think about it.
Few more tweaks. And then there’s the whole conversation about perfection. Can’t ship out some unfinished work that’s going to be judged!
A few more months. And I’ll be ready.
I have a black book of the projects and dreams that have failed before even starting. It hurts.
So much time, energy, resource, money, sacrifice went into dreaming up and planning those projects. I had to sacrifice time with my family to work on it.
And nothing to show for it today. It’s not even about others.
Nothing to show myself. And I can’t have the time back with my family.
Once you leave procrastination land, perfection is right there waiting. In case you survived.
What can you do?
Don’t worry about perfection. Or judgement. Or failure.
Let the journey be the reward for following your passion and dreams.
Take the first step today. Otherwise, a year from now, you will wish you had started today.
You need to hear this again. Start.
That is the one thing you can do today. START.
Whatever your dream or project. Take the first step. Make it concrete.
And start. And soon after, just ship it.
Show it to the world. In whatever state it is. Make it real.
