We are comparison machines.
Every day, we compare and adjust ourselves to the world around us. Physiologically and psychologically.
Even if the adjustment costs us.
We live in a world today where people’s perceptions and world view is skewed.
Social media dictates peoples attitudes and opinions. And we change ours to adapt to them. Because we want to “fit in”.
We never stop to consider who we are measuring up to. Whether that measure is even valid for us. Or it is in line with our core values and virtues.
There is an opportunity to breakthrough. To go against the crowd. To be an outlier. On purpose.
Because fitting in will make you “one of them”. And where’s the fun in that. Where is your uniqueness?
Where is your gift?
To inspire and lead, you need your own measuring.
You set the standards to what others aspire.
The world view is skewed. You need a clear vision. And then use that clarity to project to the world.
Create your own view. And share it with the world.
Look at your social media feed. If you don’t use social media, look at the 5 close people (aside from family) who you spend time with.
How aligned are your world views and opinions with them? Do you think you are shaping yourself to fit in? And are you adjusting to the right standard?
Carve out your uniqueness in this “same” “same” world. Let others follow you.
