Hah, this is so great.
Desire of love.
Desire of approval.
Desire of appreciation.
We are seekers. Validators. Social contractors.
Always looking outwards.
We seek love so that we may feel loved.
We seek approval so that we may feel worthy.
We seek appreciation so that we may feel valued.
This “desire” kills us.
Because it never gets fulfilled. Even when we think it is.
And the chase is perpetual.
What we actually lack is an estimate of our own self-worth. We must revalue ourselves and appreciate who we are. What we have to offer.
We have never fully understood our own capacity as an individual. So we have always sought to fill the void externally.
The truth is, there is no void.
Just our inability to see how complete we are.
Take a minute to assess what you have. And how grateful you can feel to be who you are.
No amount of external validation or approval can change who you truly are.
As an exercise, write down three things that you are truly grateful for in your life today. And recognise how fulfilling it feels.
